LOCATION

Trogir is a part UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Little Venice of Dalmatia, The Stone Beauty. Its history begins around the 3rd century BC when Greeks from Issa (Vis Island) founded a trading port and named it Tragurion (Ancient Greek: Τραγύριον, Tragyrion or Τραγούριον). The name derives from "Tragos" which is Greek for a goat. Megalithic walls enclosed the town and the streets were laid out in a grid pattern that is still evident.

The old town of Trogir lies on a small island, located in a narrow sea passage between the mainland and Čiovo. It is just 500 m long and 250 m wide. The historical part of Trogir is the perfect combination of the historical architektural exhibition, theatre stage and art gallery. Be sure to visit St. Lawrence Cathedral, Forts of Trogir, Trogir's museums and palaces. Don't forget to meet and greet Kairos - the Greek god of the happy moment.

Trogir's close vicinity to the highway (Dalmatina) and the airports (Split and Zadar) allows you an active vacation and easy access to other ancient cities (Split, Šibenik, Salona) and National Parks (Krka, Kornati, Plitvička jezera). Do you want to spend a day at the beach? Trogir has so many beaches that you can explore different places for swimming and enjoying the sea every day. The closest beach is only five minutes walk from Stéphane City Vibe Suites.
